More Flying Fingers Finger Plays
by Kathy Warnes
It's Time
It's time to shake, shake, shake, (Shake whole body)
It's time to bake a cake, (Pretend to stir cake)
It's time to scrub the floor, (Get on hands and knees and scrub floor)
It's time to slam the door! (Pretend to slam door.)
It's time to shake a hand, (Shake hands with person next to you)
It's time to play in the band, (Pretend to play instrument)
It's time to count up to one, (Everyone counts to one)
It's time to laugh and have fun! (Laugh and jump and hop)
Five Little Ants
Here’s one little ant, (Hold up one finger)
Crawling up my arm, (Make one finger crawl up arm)
One little ant,
Can’t do any harm
Here’s two little ants (Hold up two fingers)
Crawling up my arm, (Make two little ants crawl up arm)
Two little ants,
Can’t do any harm.
Here’s three little ants, (Hold up three fingers)
Crawling up my arm, (Make three little ants crawl up arm)
Three little ants,
Can’t do any harm.
Here’s four little ants, (Hold up four fingers)
Crawling up my arm, (Make four little ants crawl up arm)
Four little ants,
Have a crazy charm.
Here’s five little ants (Hold up five fingers)
Crawling over me, (Make five ants crawl up arm)
Five little ants crawling,
Are itchy, itchy, itchy! (Scratch arm)
If You Were A…..
If you were a camel, what would you say?
“Look at me, see my hump sway?”
LIKE THIS…… (Children pretend they have humps and sway back and forth).
If you were a wooly brown bear,
How would you comb all of your hair?
LIKE THIS…(Children pretend they are combing hair)
If you were a giraffe would you frown?
At swallowing all the way down?
LIKE THIS…..(Children pretend they’re swallowing a long way down).
If you were an elephant do you suppose,
You’d be able to blow your nose?
LIKE THIS……(Children blow elephant noses).
If you were a cow, would you?
Give milk and holler, Moo, Moo, Moo?
LIKE THIS….(Children pretend to be milking a cow and shout MOO).
If you were a horse would you pack?
A heavy cowboy on your back?
LIKE THIS…..(Children pretend they’re riding a bucking bronco).
If you were a pig, would you squeal?
Where oh where is my meal?
LIKE THIS…..(Children squeal like a hungry pig).
But you are you and please understand,
That being yourself is just grand!!!!
LIKE THIS….(Every child points to him or herself)
Walking and Running
I’m walking, walking, please take note,
I trip along like a Billy goat,
Or a zebra or lion or kangaroo,
Come on, walk with me to the zoo.
Run, run, run, that’s all I do,
Run, run, run, the whole day through,
Running is what I like the best,
But sometimes I do need a rest!……(Everyone falls to the floor)
