Welcome Home Spring!
by Kathy Warnes
I stand in the middle of my yard,
The sunlight on my back is beating hard,
I ‘m wearing only my hoodie today,
My mittens have been safely stored away.
I throw out my arms and give spring a hug,
The ground is as warm as a brown wool rug,
I give my winter boots a one way hike,
My sneakers and I are ready to bike.
I make spring feel at home the day through
Then I just have one more thing left to do
The day is still warm when after sunset
I hide my winter coat in my closet!
Welcome Home Spring!
