Flying Fingers - Fun Finger Plays to Play for Fun!
by Kathy Warnes
Be My Friend
Hold my hand, (Holds hand)
Be my friend,
Let’s play together,
Let’s pretend,
We’re sailing a boat, (Sailing motions)
In the sea,
Come on in,
Take a swim with me. (Swimming Motions)
We’ll gallop our horses on the plains,
And wiggle with the snakes
When it rains.
Hold my hand,
Be my friend,
We’ll play together
Until the day’s end.
Laugh With Me
Laugh with me,
Ha, ha, ha,
Sing with me,
Tra, la, la.
Hop with me, (Hopping)
Skip and run,
Playing together
Is lots of fun!
Busy Fingers
One busy finger,
Waving in the air,
One took a dive,
Then none were there.
Two busy fingers,
Waving in the air,
Two went swimming,
Then none were there.
Three busy fingers,
Waving in the air,
Three went walking,
Then none were there.
Four busy fingers,
Waving the the air,
Four climbed a mountain,
Then none were there.
Five busy fingers,
Waving in the air,
Five went jogging,
Then none were there.
Six busy fingers,
Waving in the air,
Six rode a bicycle,
Then none were there.
Seven busy fingers,
Waving in the air,
Seven picked berries,
Then none were there.
Eight busy fingers,
Waving in the air,
Eight washed one face,
Then none were there.
Nine busy fingers,
Waving in the air,
Nine blew a whistle,
Then none were there.
Ten busy fingers,
Reach to the sky,
Ten busy fingers,
Waving goodbye!
Fingers
Sometimes my fingers hit, (Make a fist)
When I don’t want them to,
I’ll make my fingers shake your hand,
I want to be friends with you! (Shake Hands)
My Bike
I ride my bike on down the road,
Watch out, I have a heavy load,
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, here I come,
Get out of my way everyone!
Let’s do this a different way,
There’s room for both of us to play,
There’s room for me, there’s room for you,
It’s more fun on the road with two!
The Dog and the Rabbit
One, two, three, four, five, (Hold up five fingers one by one)
Dog chased a rabbit (Use one finger for dog, one for rabbit and have them chase each other)
Rabbit took a dive, (Rabbit dives down)
Straight way down into his den,
Six, seven, eight, nine, and ten, (Hold up five fingers one by one)
Dog gave up, ran home again! (Use finger to have dog run home.)
The How Does Game
How does an elephant walk?
Hoes does an elephant talk?
How does an elephant cry?
Now wipe the tears from his eyes.
How does a kangaroo squeal?
How does he jump on his heels?
How does a kangaroo eat?
Jump back, he’ll step on your feet!
How does a bear comb his hair?
What color of shirt should he wear?
How does he lie down on the rug?
Come on, give me a hug!
How does a boy run to school?
How does a girl swim in a pool?
Now open your arms out wide,
And let the whole world inside!
Now open your arms out wide,
And let the whole world inside!

Here’s a cowboy on his horse, (Put one hand over the other)
Galloping across the plain, (Make fingers gallop)
The sky is clouding up,
And down fell drops of rain. (Pretend to be raindrops.)
The cowboy makes a fire, (Pretend to make a fire)
His horse munches tall sweet grass, (Pretend to eat grass)
Both hide under a tree, (Crouch down)

ZZZ the cowboy snores, (Snoring sounds)
The sun comes up again, (Make the sun come up)
It’s six o’clock or more. (Count to six)
